Member, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation
Antone Minthorn is currently the Master Native Language advisor for the Tribal Language Program. As a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR), Antone has served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the General Council. In addition to his work with RDI, Antone is working as a Board member for many organizations, including Columbia River Gorge Commission (CRGC), Institute for Tribal Government, Washington Historical Society, and Ecotrust. Passionate about rural and economic development, Antone is also involved in water protection and salmon restoration in the Umatilla River and Walla Walla River Basin. As a long time Oregon resident, Antone received a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Oregon University in 1973 as well as additional studies at Portland State University and University of Oregon in Comprehensive and Urban Planning. Antone is a US Marine Corps Veteran, serving from 1957-1963 in the 3rd Marine Air Wing & 1st Marine Division; Lance Corporal with honorable discharge.
