I began my professional life as a small business owner and manager of a non profit: the Portland Saturday Market. In 1990, I received an MBA from Portland State University, sold my business to my employees and moved to La Grande to work with the Regional Services Institute at Eastern Oregon University. Through my work with The Rural Oregon Marketing Project, I met RDI’s first executive director, Lynn Youngbar. Lynn hired me as the first RDI staff member in 1992. Since that time I have seen RDI grow from 1 to 24 employees. I have been pleased to act as executive director since spring of 2009.
