Our Latino leadership trainings are dynamic, informative, and relevant to Latino traditions in rural communities. Our trainings are adjusted to meet the necessities of the Latino culture as well as the culture of the group we are working with. We offer training options in increments of 9, 16, 20, and 30 hours. All of our trainings aim to increase unity among Latinos in the community, and increase Latino leadership in the community at large. We facilitate these trainings in Spanish or bilingually (English and Spanish), depending on the needs of the group.

Our Latino leadership trainings are dynamic, informative, and relevant to Latino traditions in rural communities. Our trainings are adjusted to meet the necessities of the Latino culture as well as the culture of the group we are working with. We offer 10, 20, and 30-hour training options. All of our trainings are offered locally and at no cost to participants thanks to the generosity of our funders: The Ford Family Foundation and Sherwood Trust. The aim of Cultivando Liderazgo is to increase unity among Latinos in the community, and increase Latino leadership in the community at large. The participants also design and hold an event to foster community participation from the Latino community where they live. Such events have included Carnival, Day of the Children, Educational Celebration of 5 de Mayo, and a workshop on first aid and emergency preparedness, among others.
- Pasos al Éxito
-
Pasos al Éxito (PAE) is a two-year, tiered, microenterprise development program that supports building the economic development capacity of rural Latino community participants in three ways: training in basic personal and business finance, instruction in starting a small microenterprise business, and access to mentorship, support, and resources as they take their first steps toward success. RDI will be delivering this program in partnership with local Latino-based community organizations and statewide and regional resource providers to ensure local stewardship and an authentic experience.

-
RDI’s bilingual facilitators create a neutral space to help Latino community groups share perspectives, find common ground, and plan for action around important issues and decisions. We help communities navigate their way through difficult conversations, build consensus, and use meeting time to effectively engage attendees. We facilitate community meetings and work with local volunteers to lead more effective meetings. Our facilitation style is interactive and responsive to the attributes of the group.
- Specialized Technical Assistance
-
RDI’s Cultivando Comunidad staff designs and delivers culturally catered assistance that responds to an organization’s specific needs. We help organizations with Board Development, Strategic Planning, Fund Development Planning and more. As a founding member of the Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO), RDI connects rural communities with a wide range of specialized technical assistance and may even be able to help you find funding as needed. If we don’t provide the specific service you are looking for, we can likely connect you with someone who does.
- Networking Conferences
-
RDI conferences bring together the diversity of people we work with in the rural Northwest and experts in rural development to network and dive deeper into the projects and programs we bring to communities. Look for your invitation to our largest conference, Regards to Rural, and upcoming events in your area.
