Mary Bosch

I have dedicated my career to helping communities make sound choices about their economic future and take action to get results. Early on, I taught school in rural Georgia and became quickly intrigued with how people and places develop and change. After earning a Master of City Planning at Georgia Tech, I worked in economic/community development at the Georgia Power Co. Several years later, my husband, two children, and I moved to Oregon for greener pastures, truly. My economic development work here began with RDI more than 20 years ago helping communities redefine themselves after declining timber harvests and mill closures. Since then, I have consulted with over 100 Pacific Northwest towns on economic and downtown revitalization, business development, and economic action plans. I feel I have come back “home,” rejoining RDI and my nonprofit roots. I’m especially inspired by opportunities to make a lasting difference in rural Oregon and the chance to work with RDI’s outstanding and committed team of practitioners.
