Katie Sheffield is currently a Senior Manager at Kern & Thompson, LLC, where she has a focus on non-profit audit and attestation services. She previously worked for several years at a large accounting firm in Portland, gaining experience on a wide range of clients in the audit, tax, and consulting departments. Prior to becoming an accountant, she worked 7 years in the banking industry creating new relationships with clients, primarily focusing on business banking, private banking, and cash management.

Katie has experience working on non-profit audits and with organizations subject to the Single Audit requirements, specifically in the social services, land and estuary conservation, education, and housing industries. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants. She serves as a member to the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountant on the Non-profit Strategic Committee.

Katie hails from Eastern Oregon and has deep Oregon roots and family ties throughout the state. In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking new trails and biking as an alternative mode of transportation.
