Martin Sanchez

Martin Sanchez is a Community Engagement Specialist with the Washington State Department of Commerce, where he works closely with local governments, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders across the Southcentral region in Washington State to connect communities with state resources and opportunities. His work focuses on strengthening relationships, supporting rural and underserved communities, and helping local partners navigate programs that support economic development and community growth. Martin earned his bachelor’s degree in public health from Central Washington University and later completed his Master of Public Health at Concordia University. His academic background helps inform his work in community engagement, particularly in understanding how economic development, infrastructure, and public services impact the health and well-being of communities.
Through his role at Commerce, Martin works to ensure communities, especially those in rural areas, have access to the information, partnerships, and resources they need to thrive. He is passionate about helping others, building meaningful connections, and supporting efforts that improve the quality of life for families and communities throughout Washington State. Outside of his professional work, Martin enjoys soccer, gardening, spending time outdoors, playing with his two daughters and watching action and suspense films.
