A Bittersweet Farewell to RDI’s Jennifer Groth

With mixed emotions, we announce that Jennifer Groth, RDI’s Director of Policy & Partnerships, has accepted a position with the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust as a Senior Program Officer, Civic Engagement & Community Services.

Jennifer championed initiatives and efforts at RDI including our Rural Civic Engagement Project, which focuses on organizing leaders to understand and advocate for rural-specific issues at the local, state, and federal level. Jennifer also helped lead RDI’s Community Conversations, a series of interactive webinars that facilitate discussion related to the impacts of recent events in rural communities. Among her many other accomplishments, Jennifer’s leadership and focus on our equitable rural funding and inclusive rural policy efforts will continue to have an impact on the rural places we serve.

As Jennifer reflected, “It’s very hard for me to leave such a wonderful and capable group of people who work so diligently to support rural communities, but I look forward to learning how to make change in a different way as I take on this new role.” We will miss Jennifer and her brilliance, and at the same time, we look forward to seeing her continued impact in the Pacific Northwest.
